Seat Leon MK2 '09 upgrade to MFSW

Postby imay on Mon Jun 15, 2020 7:03 pm

Hi all,

Due to recent problem - https://www.seat-forum.co.uk/forum/view ... &t=1109599 friend who was helping out had to cut open steering wheel to unlock it and safely remove airbag.

I was looking for a new steering wheel, local scrap yard only had one with multifunction buttons, I thought well why not use the opportunity and upgrade.

However by the looks of it I might need to replace wiring harness and maybe steering wiper switch (which also has board computer functions). Can someone advise what parts do I need to replace and what code do I need to change? My friend will help me to get everything back together, but would like to have all the right parts and get it to reprogrammed some time soon.

Current parts:
* Old steering wheel (Part No 7n5419091bot)
* Existing steering wiper switch with board computer functions (Part No 1k0953519j)
* Existing steering switch indicators (Part No 1k0953513e)
* Existing steering control module (Part No 1K0953549cq)
* Existing steering wheel air bag clockspring (Part No 1k0959653c)
* Existing Airbag wiring harness (Part No 3c8971584)
* Existing Airbag (Part No 5p0880201ad)
* New steering wheel (Part No 7n5419091cbou)
* New steering buttons (Part No 1P0959537H & 1p0959538d)

Many thanks in advance!

According to http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.ph ... K0-953-549
Control Module Part Number Slip Ring Software Level Variant Steering Angle Sensor LIN Version Notes
1K0-953-549-CQ Type 2 SW 0111 Midline No - -

where Variant:
Lowline: No additional Options/Features
Midline: Cruise Control, Board Computer
Highline: Cruise Control, Board Computer, Multi-Function Steering Wheel

Still very unclear if i need to replace it though :D

I need to buy wiring harness anyway. Does it matter if I buy 3c8971584A or 3c8971584F or similar?
