Hey everyone,

That time of year again, car insurance needs renewed. I thought with 1 yr NCB and having my license for 3 yrs might have helped me get my quoted down but no joy. Still waaaay over £1k, and I aint paying that. Im currently with Elephant.co.uk (awaiting a confirmed renewal price this week) and tried Bell.co.uk.

Managed to get the price down to £780, so I was over the moon with that!

I suggest everyone tries this place before insuring or renewing

Still sounds pricey....I thought insurance was half nothin in the UK?!

Try swiftcover - their prices are quite good. It's also a good idea to put your excess up high because you won't claim if its a smallish bump anyway because you'll want to retain your NCB anyway

Yeah but if you have a big smash your lumbered with a huuuuge bill you probably cant afford LOL

I had about £1000 excess of my Ibiza - I wouldn't ever claim for damage less than that and if I was unlucky enough to have had a fault claim £1000 is a manageable amount to have to pay

Well, I've just done a quick quote for a 2003 16V 1.4 Ibiza Sport for a first car and Bell came in at £526.81 and Swiftcover was £469.02, so I know which company I'm going to go for unless you know of any cheaper?

I'm impressed with those quotes as I've been getting quotes of a lot higher for a lot less spec wise
