Hi i have had my brand new ibiza for 3 weks now and last night the enginge the 1.2 suddenly lost power when coming down the motorway didnt stall as it was in gear then it started to accelerate ok again. It has now just as i have been coming hoe from t he shops lost power and the oil light came on the alarm sounded and then the alarm went out and normal service was resumed. the oil level is fine...the bloody thing is les then two weeks old going to the stealers tommorow but what could this be?

Sounds similar to the faults decribed earlier om this thread - pretty much anything mentioned previously could be the cause

got the same problem on a cordoba - drops at around 3-4k. point to mention is that the lamda was replaced about 5k miles ago. ill monitor the thread and post back here if i get a response. i agree its not much fun when your pulling out on the motorway.

Try a brake light switch i had exact same problem, it sorted mine out
cheap and easy to fit worth a go,
i would recommend a genuine switch

Did you ever manage to get a fix on this? My 2003 TDI has just started doing the exact same thing.
