Should be fine then. If its a diesel, just take it for a good hard drive before the MOT to get the engine nice and hot to reduce any smoke, probably doesn't hurt for a petrol either. If your due a service, it could be better to put it through the service before the MOT (or even do them on the same day) to save you from any unexpected surprises.

You can see what they do at the MOT test here, so basically just check everything they are going to check, as far as you can at least.
