First question (Please dont laugh)
Apart from making the tail tail whossh noise what benifits do they have if any?

Second Question
Any recommendation on make, model etc

Thanks

If your after the wooshy wooshy sort of noise I'd recommend the Forge Split-R valve....its been made to work properly with the 1.8T engines and has a sort of half blow off and half re-circ valve to keep the engine happy. http://www.forgemotorsport.co.uk/content.asp?inc=product&cat=1304&product=FMDVSPLTR

Apart from that you've got the Forge 007P valve which is a re-circ valve so not as much noise as the above but with a induction kit can still sound good. http://www.forgemotorsport.co.uk/content.asp?inc=product&cat=1305&product=FMCL007P

If you get a re-map you will definately need to upgrade your DV as your standard one isnt good enough and it will split

If you want the noise from a dumpvalve i would recommend the new split-r valve from FORGE. Have had one put on myself and sounds really great. If you are not bothered or dont like the dumpvalve noise fit either a FORGE recirc or a BAILEY one both are very good and choice is down to you.
If you have your car remapped then you need to change the spring depending on application as mentioned abouve. Not to sure how we go on with the split r though.
Hope this helps.
