On the MK1's you unscrew the main screw which holds the light in place. Then get your fingers behind the sides of the lights and pull out - you will need to pull quite hard. Disconnect the wires. Once the light is out you just unscrew the circuit at the back, which has 2 screws. Lift out the circuit and done. Its a 5 minute job to get them both off.
You will be able to see it on the outside should be on the outer edge of the light half way down. Its too big to not see. I thought it would be a mission to get the lights off as is with other cars but, it really is a 5 minute job.
