I have 2 keys, one with remote, one wthout but have just checked manual and I havent got a code fob, does this matter? Bought from a dealer but have the ex owners address so i could in theory contact them and ask about it, probably wont have it though I bet.
I think you'll find the car originally came with just 2 keys. The code details would have been on a plastic strip on the non-remote key, so the only thing you are missing are the codes.
There's nothing wrong with that, except that if you want to code a new key to your car, you'll have to get a dealer to do it, as you won't be able to add the chip in the key to the immobiliser in the car. To be fair, you'd need VAG-COM to do this yourself anyway.
