Hi all .

Had a boy racer up my backside on the way home from work tonight , so when the light's changed from red i thought i'd put my foot down in my cordy tdi 130 and see if i could beat him away , no problem , i got away first , but i noticed that although the front wheels were not spinning , the TRACTION control light on the dash flashed a few times , is this normal ???

As i'm an old git now i dont really burn rubber anymore and plus the fact i've never had TRACTION CONTROL in previous cars i was just curious about the flashing light ,

Mark .

As Dave says, if the light is flashing it just means the TCS system is active and limiting wheel spin. I always noticed on my Mk4 it seemed to kick in quite early, and sometimes would just merrily flash away without any real noticeable effect, probably when you your wheels would be just about to start spinning if you had the TCS switched off. Nothing to worry about though, just means it's doing its job :D
