Hi

Am wondering if anyone has any experience with the TPS, on the Altea/VAG range?

I know that this is not to display anything, nor to replace checking tyres on a regular basis with a gauge. It just monitors.

I checked my tyres some time after calibrating to see how low they would get before it alerts, but i found one tyre down by 4psi and still no alert.

Anyone found out what the pressure difference needs to be to alert the driver.

Cheers

Hi
Recently had the TPS warning come up on my Altea 2.0 TDi, nail through the side wall. Although the tyre was not flat I should say the warning went off at about 20psi. I still had about 15psi in the tyre when removed from the car.
The alarm won't go off at a set pressure but on a rolling radius as the sensor forms part of the ABS and detects difference in wheel speed, ie, the lower the pressure, the faster the wheel.
Keep the tyres up to pressure and reset the system after each check.
